If you have to see one video about the human brain and its innerworkings... make it this one. It really made me think about how we're put together, the "black box" on our shoulders and our concepts about conciousness/reality.

Excellent video Sean. My wife is a speach pathologist and I certainly want to share this with her. How amazing that a women with her intelligence and ironic expereince can dissect the atatomy of a stroke and inform the public.
I took a human development class last session and was amazed at what all the human brain is capable of doing.
Do you think technology will ever reach the point where it surpasses what the human brain can do? Like what we seen in movies like artificial intellegence? I wonder what kinds of changes will be coming in terms of legislation as well...

Jill has a really keen memory for going through a stroke. She was a great presenter with such emotions. Our brain is an interesting muscle. I believe they say we don't even use half of our potential. I would think Jill, in her moment of the stroke, had to max out her brain potential to remember everything so eloquently.

Had I been a Brain Scientist, I think it would be quite frightening to know what exactly I was experiencing, but in this case, the Dr. knew what exactly what was going on with her. Indeed, I belive that she was able to save herself from the panic and anxiety of suffering a stroke.
As I mentioned last in class, my ister, suffered a stroke and the effect of that was Bells Palsy. To this day, she does not remember anything but she still gets depressed every so often about not being able to smile on one side of her face.
As medical technology increases, our knowledge on how the brain works and how to heal it becomes revolutionary in the improvement of life. There are also advances in brain research to determine learning styles and how the brain learns and makes connections. It is a fascinating field.
Every time I watch this video I learn new things. The ability to self examine and then to articulate the very abstract sensations and feeling is a skill that comes from within. This self awareness is something we could all strive for.
This is an incredible speech. Her spiritual experience is a rare gift. My Grandmother suffered a stroke almost 3 years ago. She spent 2 years in assisted living and is now living in her own place by herself. She is still affected by some paralysis and weakness, but she did not lose mental capacity. Her independent living has given her a lot more confidence and physical abilities. I know it takes a lot of courage to recover from an incapacitating event and I applaud everyone who has that courage.
WOW! Listen to this entire presentation ... amazing! And I must say, I am extremely left brain centric.
What a powerful presentation. It takes an incredible person to talk about such a personal experience so that people can become familiar with the brain

This is a great video in understanding how your brain works, and how unique it is from any form advancement in technology. Now, a question comes to mind, will a computer or Robot be able to generate the same effect as the human brain? I don't know if a computer would be able to. Then again, something created us to have these functions in our brain, what is to say that we cannot create the same for a robot. Something to consider.
This is a great presentation! I think more people need to listen to this and share similar experiences.
Interesting question Lu. I think computers and technology will advance beyond many people's expectations. To say the very least, technology will be able to "read" what is going on in the brain.
